This was definitely a "quiet" weekend. Meaning we had no broken bones, no 2nd degree burns, no black eyes, only one pump-knot....you get the picture. Anyone who knows anything about our family understands what I'm saying!! We've had a pretty exciting year so far and it's only March!!
Malachi is now walking most of the time (hence the pump-knot) and he's actually getting more use out of my new exercise bike than I am. He thinks it's a new toy.
I can't figure out how to get the handle bars to stay up so I've yet to use the blasted contraption. Good thing I only paid $10 for it. I also found a Gazelle for $5 this weekend at a yard sale. That thing is awesome although Kari thinks it's an inside swing and always wants me to "swing" her instead of exercising.
The good news is..... I've lost 18 pounds!!! Yay for me. I will also commend my sister in law for losing 40 pounds so far!! She is doing great and looking even better. I'm so proud of her!
My wonderful mother came up Friday night (and my sister!) to keep the kids during our big church cleaning on Saturday. Saturday evening Malachi, having already been bathed, dried off, lotioned and pj'd for bedtime decided to head back into the bathroom to take a gander at his sister to see how the bath was coming along for her. Here's how mom and I found them:
I love these kids. :)
Also, my manager at work bought me a new Bundt cake pan and I was so excited to use it. Kari and I made the prettiest cake although my excitement was dampered by the fact that I could only eat ONE small piece during Sunday dinner. :(
Here is the cake with the gooey caramel icing on top!! It's not a beautiful cake, I know, but it's always beautiful when my baby girl helps me make it!

Scripture for the Day
I read this yesterday afternoon and it really helped me! Here goes:
I Timothy 6:8
And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
Believers should be content with the basics of food, clothing and shelter. If special financial needs arise, we must look to God to provide, while we continue to work, help those in need and serve God with generous giving. Believers are not to be driven by a desire to get rich, as "the love of money is a root of all evil."

Oh, The Things We'll Do.....
For some peace and quiet!! I've read this suggestion in several parenting magazines, I've heard my own mother talk about it, I've heard other mothers with small children talk about it.....so why do I feel guilty for doing it? :)
For the first time in my history of being a parent I rode my kids around in the van until they fell asleep!!! Kari started the night out sleepy and Malachi was pretty sleepy by the time we were finished with our walk last night. After a snack and their baths......that trigger that I was referring to yesterday was about to be pulled and I knew if I didn't do something it would be another hour before I got them down. So, with a touch of desperation, I loaded them into the van, turned on their little sing along CD, cranked the heat up and headed out to drive around until they were konked. Maybe I shouldn't have.....maybe it's okay to do it. All I know is I actually got a hot shower and shaved my legs last night!! I had prayer time with just me and the Lord and no interruptions and I even got to read a book for about 15 minutes.
I'm hooked. :)

A Recap of our Funny Night
I don't understand how all these people make their pages look so cute. I've been to all the little web pages that you can download cute stuff from but it's not working for me!! I think I'll email my buddy Angel and ask her for some help. This page is under construction for those of you who are thinking that my page is pretty bland!
So, anyway, a recap of last night's events in the Noe household: My beautiful kiddos decided to be little angels most of the evening. We ate at Fazoli's (99 cent kid's meals, yahoo!) and went home to play a little before bedtime. I think my children have this little trigger in their minds that says "GET WILD AND DO EVERYTHING YOU CAN DO TO KEEP FROM FALLING ASLEEP" that gets "triggered" around 9:00. I'll admit that I have changed their bedtime since the time change. I think when it's light outside with valuable play time left that no child wants to be going to sleep. That being said.....they are totally out of whack at bedtime now. You wouldn't think that one hour would make a difference but, honestly, they're like little monkeys when I put them in bed. It's pretty funny most nights. Little Malachi (not so little anymore) is finding new ways to either a. make his sister laugh b. make his sister cry or c. make her do both at the same time which is quite funny to see. Bless her heart, Kari takes it so well most of the time. She usually laughs at her bubby and goes on or decides to get revenge.....
I'll try to make a long story short but between the beginning of bath time to the point where they FINALLY fell asleep these things happened: Kari had....an accident....on the potty so I put her and Malachi in the bathtub while I cleaned it up. They were playing in the water, having a good ol' time when I heard "Mommy, I'll help you clean..." followed by a splash of water. You guessed it!! Water all over the floor. After cleaning that mess up I returned to the toilet mess and proceeded to clean there. After finishing that I bent over to gather my cleaning supplies and for some reason didn't notice that I had the toilet bowl cleaner already in my arms and that the lid wasn't properly closed. At this point I'm not sure how much toilet bowl cleaner leaked into the air vent on the floor while I was bent over. The good thing is I'll have a good smell filtering through the room when my air kicks on! LOL. Ten minutes later I sat on the side of the tub to bath the kids. I was scrubbing Malachi's cute little head of hair when I felt something warm down my back. Yep. Kari had, once again, decided to clean the floor with a cup full of water.
I think I would just like to know if this happens at everyone else's house during "getting ready for bed time." I keep telling myself that the kids will be in bed by 9:00 and I'll have a quiet hour of prayer and getting caught up on housework. WRONG so far! Geez. Any suggestions for those of you that have been through this? I've read lots of articles on "Ways to Establish Bedtime Routines" and some such nonsense that really doesn't help. Especially when you're a single parent and doing the whole bedtime routine single handedly!!
So, to end this very long post I will say that as of this morning I was laughing my head off at the turn of events last night. My children are so funny and I think I'm the most blessed mother on the earth! :)

Let's Get Started!
Okay, so this is my first post! I've been reading these blogs for several weeks now and they are so funny!! I'm not sure I can live up to the others but it's not like I'm going to be having 100's of people following mine. My sweet mother will be a faithful reader, I'm sure, and possibly my sister. They love me! They love those sweet little babies too...that's probably the biggest motivator!
So....until I figure this whole blogging thing out and get my page looking "pretty" I won't post anymore!
