July 4th in Pictures

I plan (plan being the key word) to finish our story at some point this weekend since Sunday marks one year since diagnosis.  But, before I do that, I must share the wonderful time we had this week celebrating the holiday!

In Danville, there isn't much to entertain the kids with that is affordable and cool on hot summer days.  No McDonald's play place, no Chick Fil A play place, no mall...nothing.  We planned to visit family for the holiday but things didn't work out that way.  I had a bright idea on Tuesday and asked Aunt Lacey and Ivy if they would like to join us.  Here was my cheap idea for July 4th all day and night until noon July 5th:

With Ivy's husband's AAA discount, we got a motel room for $60 which meant $20 each. We had so much fun! Ivy, Trinity, Titus, the kids and I, and Lacey swam our hearts out all day. My mom and sister came up too and spent part of the day with us. After we had enough swimming for the day, we went to Orange Leaf where we enjoyed some DEE LISH yogurt.

Then, of course, off to see fireworks!

The ending of another beautiful day with these little blessings!

Tonight we had a cook out with some friends.  It was so much fun!  I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.  It's so good to be with Godly people and have good, clean fun and to be reminded that God has placed people in our lives to help us through the rough times and to laugh with us in the good times.  I'm very thankful for my friends and for the reminder that God truly has blessed us abundantly!

  2. Ashley, I could say alot about this post, but I have to ask? Have you lost a few lbs? You look so thin and I'm so jealous. I love motels and pools and Orange Leaf yogurt. Sounded like a great time.

  4. Aren't you the thrifty Mama? Sounds like a genius idea! My son's birthday is in January and it's always icky and cold weather. I've thought about doing the indoor pool thing at a hotel for him before. Think it would be a hit.

  8. i like hairstyles i want to say that i can serme whole life to the hairstyles i can easily do this i like it.hairstyles are a primitive one and often linked with the popular and demanding styles in 60s and 70s hairstyles both in men and women. A parallel hairstyles approach is still followed for girls and women in modern hairstyles amazing hairstyle with a little untidy that confers a rock & roll look to your hair. This curly short hair styles hairstyles. style has gone through slight changes over the time. Unlikely to older styles.
