God is Faithful

\It's funny how prayer works sometimes. When we pray we want God to move like...yesterday. LOL! But sometimes He chooses not to move right then but He's still always on time. God brought it to my mind this morning that for the two weeks before this happened, the theme at church seemed to be that God is always on time even when we think He's four days late. Was He preparing us? I think so.

Yesterday, Kari had a lot of pain in her facial area. The doctors said that it was a side effect (affect?) from the chemo. She laid on me last night and wrapped her little arms around my neck and said, "Mommy, I just don't feel good and I just want you to hold me." Seriously? Talk about heartbreaking. So, I held her. She cried, I cried and we prayed together. I sent word out through text messaging which got everyone else facebooking and calling and texting people they knew to pray. Before we knew it, we made it through another night with no complaints of pain, no fevers, nothing but peaceful sleep. Except for the time Kari woke me up and said I was squishing her arm. LOL!! We're sleeping together for now because that's the way Kari likes it. Hospital beds were not made for two people, let me tell ya.

So, while we've been in the hospital, we've had lots of gifts that are so neat! We've been painting which is very interesting in a hospital, we've colored, played with Play-Doh, and had visits from the Kentucky Princesses to make little princess crowns for Kari. Kari's best buds, Macey and Kyndall, came to visit and Kari enjoyed that so much! We love you, Macey and Kyndall!

Some friends of ours also brought Kari a Baby Alive that has doctor's supplies with it. She got to listen to the heartbeat, give it shots, checks its ears and all that...she loves that doll!
We're still missing Malachi but he is in good hands with Uncle Chris and Aunt Lacey. Talk about a Godsend...Malachi will be spoiled rotten when he comes home but I don't even have to worry one minute about that boy. Chris and Lacey love him like their own and I trust them completely. Thank God for "Guncle" and "Yayee".

The above picture is Kari after painting with green paint apparently. Our cousin, Lashei, took this picture and I think she pretty much summed it up for Kari. This place stinks. By the way, if you're wondering why Kari doesn't have clothes on in some of these pictures, it's because she said she was tired of wearing jammies and wanted to be naked. LOL! That child is a hoot.

  1. Gad is faithful! Kari looks great. My family has been praying for her daily. If your including others, we would love to be included in Facebook updates so we know best how to pray for Kari. I know you don't know me personally, lol, but I live in Jackson County and found out about Kari on FB.

  6. Ashley I wanted you to know I have been praying and praying and praying for Kari and YOU. I stay tuned into these post to see what God has done next! I wanted to tell you a little story my mom told me a while back about God being ON TIME.. she said there was something that she wanted sooooo bad and it was allot of money and she keep praying if it was God's will she be able to get it. turns out she waited longer than she really intended she would need to wait and right when she was going to give up on it... she got it for FREE... the lesson she said was just because we want something and want it right now.. God knows ALL and he knew if she waited just a little longer it would be her's for free :)she didn't know that BUT HE DID!! so it was well worth her wait! He is a BIG GOD and I know everyone that knows you can never remember YOU without your smile, so even through this SMILE, cause you know and we know we can praise him through this storm. 12. Ashley,
I put you all on the prayer request at Church last Sunday. You have many people praying for you all and Im sure God will grant you all a miracle. You have such a precious daughter and little man. You are a great mother and God sees that daily. Michael and I will continue to think about you all daily also. It has really opened my eyes, this experience you are going through, that God can take you places you didnt think you would go but he is there helping you through it whether you know it or not. We love you Ashley and I know God is with you and especially with Kari!
